UK, GIIF, FSD Africa launch green infrastructure financing facility 
FSD Africa, the British High Commission and the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF) have launched a Green Project Preparation Facility (PPF) to prepare climate-resilient infrastructure projects for investment and help bridge Ghana’s infrastructure financing gap. 
The facility, launched in Accra, is designed to build a pipeline of investment-ready green projects, reduce project development risks and mobilise private capital. 
The PPF was first announced during President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to the United Kingdom as part of the UK-Ghana Growth Partnership. 
The UK Government has committed an initial £5 million to capitalise the facility, which will be hosted and managed by FSD Africa in partnership with GIIF. 
The facility is expected to expand over time with additional support from other development partners.
